EasySettings

EasySettings replaces the System Settings grid with a form: the name, description and key on the left, the right kind of field on the right. Change as many values as you like and save them in one click or with Ctrl+S. A tree of namespaces and areas instead of paging, search across all namespaces including lexicon files, and a System Events tab. The classic grid stays one click away.

Install the package with the Package Manager and open System -> System Settings: nothing to configure.

Requires the settings permission, as the stock page does; the System Events tab also needs the events permission. To go back to the stock grid, press "Classic view" on the page, or turn the component off with the easysettings.enabled system setting.

• The System Settings page as a form: the name, description and key on the left, the right kind of field on the right — a Yes/No switch, a number, a password with a "Show" button, JSON with validation, a growing text area. Core combo boxes become lists with the same options, and settings of other extras with an xtype of their own are drawn by their own ExtJS component.
• A tree of namespaces and areas instead of paging. An area opens as a page of its own with its own address, so Back and Forward work, the link can be opened in a new tab, and unsaved edits survive the move.
• Batch saving: changed rows are marked, a bar with Undo and Save appears, and Ctrl+S works in any keyboard layout. Every setting is saved by the core processor, so the whole MODX logic runs as before.
• Search across all namespaces at once, by name, key, description and value, with matches highlighted — lexicon file entries included.
• A right-click row menu as in the MODX grid: Edit, Copy key, Revert to the saved value, Delete.
• A System Events tab: events by group with the plugins attached, search and sorting by the number of plugins.
• The stock grid stays one click away, and the easysettings.enabled setting turns the component off entirely.
• The interface is written in Svelte; the strings come from the MODX lexicon in the manager's language, and the extra's own strings are translated into English, Russian and Tajik.
