MODX Start is a template to get your MODX project started fast and the right way. It includes common and default settings, plugins and configurations. It also serves as a base for future MPThemes templates and framework extensions.

MODX Start does not install any framework, HTML, CSS or Javascript.

Instructions

The steps to install MODX Start for MODX Revolution are easy!

NOTE: we highly recommend using MODX Revolution 2.4.2-pl or higher with this theme.

Via package manager

download modx_start from 'Extras' > 'Installer' > 'Download extras' > search for 'MODX Start'

download and the 'MODX Start' package

follow the steps of the install

after the installation is finished click 'OK' Finally go to 'Manage' > 'Clear Cache' (for MODX 2.2 and lower 'Site' > 'Clear Cache')

Make sure you activate Friendly URL's (more info: https://rtfm.modx.com/revolution/2.x/administering-your-site/using-friendly-urls)

Manual in installation

in the main menu select 'Extras' > 'Installer'

on Package Management page click on the little arrow next to 'Download Extras' and choose 'Upload a package'

the theme should now be listed on the Package Management page Click on the 'Install' button under the package

follow the steps of the install

after the installation is finished click 'OK' Finally go to 'Manage' > 'Clear Cache' (for MODX 2.2 and lower 'Site' > 'Clear Cache')

Make sure you activate Friendly URL's (more info: https://rtfm.modx.com/revolution/2.x/administering-your-site/using-friendly-urls)

Your theme for MODX Revolution is installed and ready to go! To view the site click on 'Content' > 'Preview Site'

Updating

To update MODX Start, simply download the new version of MODX Start from the Extras Installer and repeat the installation steps.
