Instructions

Install modx2mcp-1.2.4-pl.transport.zip with MODX Revolution 2.8.x Package Management. This package is for MODX 2 only.

Updating an existing MODX2MCP (modx2mcp) installation: perform a normal package upgrade. Existing modxmcp.* settings and API token are preserved.

Migrating from the older MODX 2 package named modxmcp: it is a different package identity. Back up settings and token first; fully uninstall the old package before installing modx2mcp. Removing it can delete the former settings and token. Update client credentials as needed.

On a fresh install the MCP endpoint is disabled by default. Review security settings and enable modxmcp.enabled only when ready. Retrieve the API token through an authorized Manager account.

Install Node.js 18+ on your MCP host. Run npx with -y and github:rumata-estor/modx3-mcp#v1.2.4.

Set MODX_MCP_SITE_URL=https://your-site.example/assets/components/modxmcp/api.php and MODX_MCP_TOKEN to the site-specific secret. Use HTTPS. Restart your client and begin with authenticated read-only actions.

Complete localization of the MODX MCP manager dashboard and dependency graph into 9 languages: English (en), Russian (ru), Spanish (es), German (de), French (fr), Ukrainian (uk), Kazakh Cyrillic (kk), Dutch (nl), and Polish (pl).
All 166 manager lexicon messages in each language are translated, including token management, capabilities, dependency graph controls and diagnostics.
New multilingual documentation and tool catalogs are available on GitHub.
No MCP API changes: 193 server actions / 192 public MCP tools.
Existing system settings and API tokens are preserved on regular package upgrades.
Verified on MODX Revolution 2.8.9-pl. Release artifacts and CI tests passed.
