Instructions

Download and install modx3mcp-1.1.0-pl.transport.zip using MODX Package Management. This package is for MODX Revolution 3.x only.

Obtain the generated API token from the component settings.

Configure your MCP-compatible client to run npx with arguments -y and github:rumata-estor/modx3-mcp#v1.1.0. Node.js 18 or newer is required.

Set MODX_MCP_SITE_URL to https://your-site.example/assets/components/modxmcp/api.php and MODX_MCP_TOKEN to your API token.

Start with read-only operations, then enable the capability groups needed for your workflow.

First stable shared-source release for MODX Revolution 2.8.x and 3.x, with separate transport packages. All 182 server actions now use the shared modular runtime: 74 read operations and 108 write operations. Includes platform adapters, dependency analysis, safety backups, audit hooks and preserved settings/API tokens during upgrades. This listing distributes the MODX 3.x package.
